In this post we're listing fashion essentials every girl should have in their closets! These 5 must-haves are our go-to's! We usually style our outfits with one of these items. It always acts as a basis and from there you can build to create your personal timeless fits.
Some of the must-haves are definitely investment pieces, so splurging on what you love most is definitely ideal (in our opinion). These are all classic items that will remain in style for years!! It would be as prominent now as it will be in the future!
So here we go, showcasing our 5 top must-haves in our closets!
1. GOOD PAIR OF JEANS wide leg / boyfriend / flares / baggy
jas: jeans are an essential piece in my closet! recently I've been leaning towards wearing a more baggy and wide-leg fit rather than skinny or even straight cut because it is so much more comfy. such an easy item to pair with especially on casual days out and running errands. I love pairing this style of jeans with a crop top and an oversized jacket or with an oversized hoodie and sneakers!
yas: I honestly adore wide leg and flared jeans. I think they're essential to every outfit, and honestly, it just gives off such cozy and simplistic vibes. In my closet, I have white/black and blue (different shades) of baggy/wide leg + flared jeans! It's such a go-to look. Style it with a basic crop top or corset top, and it's the perfect everyday look.
2. BACKLESS CROP TOP
jas: if you're trying to elevate a staple piece in your closet definitely invest in a good backless crop top! once this country isn't in a lockdown anymore, this will be the piece I will be gravitating towards especially for nights out! paired with dark denim or a tennis skirt and you'll be good to go!
yas: Oh my god. This is my current obsession, I own about a million backless tops. I think it shows off the perfect sexy and elegant vibes. You honestly can't go wrong with your styling, if you have one of these in your closets!!! definitely A MUST HAVE.
3. CHUNKY PEARL / CHAIN NECKLACES
jas: I LOVE CHUNKY AND PEARL NECKLACES!! a statement piece on its own or complimenting an outfit, it can really be a versatile piece in your collection. I admired my grandmother's pearl collection growing up so I've been starting my own and I had just invested in a Bill Skinner Queen Bee pearl necklace and can't wait for it to arrive!
yas: Okuuuuur. Jewllery is soooo important to an outfit. I definitely invest a lot of my money in good jewellery - the Dior gold chain necklace and the Vivienne Westwood pearls, wow ultimate go-to's. I could pair it with my pyjamas, and it would literally make the entire outfit work.
4. MINI SHOULDER BAGS
jas: the only type of bag you'll catch me in! such a simple bag to grab on the go and styled with LITERALLY any outfit. my collection of mini shoulder bags is growing but I usually purchase them from ASOS because the quality is amazing for the price!
yas: Mini shoulder bags are sooo cute! I'm the type of girl that always needs a handbag by my side. Having a cute shoulder bag and only putting the essentials inside is the key to life. I usually base my outfits on my shoulder bags, whether that be the branding or the colour.
5. CHUNKY TRAINERS
jas: I don't think I was into sneakers until I watch 'The Last Dance' on Netflix. after I watched that documentary I grew a strong appreciation for sneakers especially my prized possession the Nike Air Jordan 1 High OG "UNC to Chicago"! I love wearing a mix of street style and a more feminine style so i would pair this pair of sneakers with a mini skirt and an oversized sweater!
yas: Personally, I am not a heels-kinda gal, I really like my trainers -- I can't live without them. I own aloooot of pairs, my favourite pair I own are definitely the Balenciaga Triple S and my Nike Air Max Tailwind (Spruce Aura Green). My go-to everyday outfit is usually baggy jeans that sit nicely on top of these trainers with a simple crop top or jumper. It's honestly perfect.
